Technical Accounting
& IPO Readiness Advisory

Helping companies scale with confidence - from complex technical accounting challenges to IPO Readiness Assessments

What I Do  ⚙️

I am part of BPM LLP's Technical Accounting & IPO Readiness Advisory practice where I help high-growth startups and public companies make sense of the complex financial rules that come with scaling and going public.

From revenue recognition and lease accounting to equity and stock-based compensation, I help clients turn complicated accounting guidance into clear, actionable insights. My work bridges technical detail and big-picture strategy, supporting CFOs, controllers, and founders as they prepare for audits, investor due diligence, and SEC filings.

I've been part of engagements ranging from pre-IPO readiness projects to multi-billion-dollar financial reporting transformations, working with clients across the Financial Services, Technology, Consumer Goods, and Insurance sectors.

At its core, my work is about helping companies build trust -- with investors, regulators, and the markets, by turning financial complexity into transparency and insight.

Expertise Snapshot 📝

1

ASC 606 Revenue Recognition

I work closely with high-growth technology, fintech, and SaaS clients to navigate the complexities of ASC 606. My work involves analyzing multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, and usage-based or milestone-driven contracts to determine the proper timing and pattern of revenue recognition.

I prepare and co-author technical accounting memos addressing key topics such as principal versus agent considerations, contract modifications, and stand-alone selling price allocations.

Beyond technical analysis, I also help clients operationalize revenue recognition by partnering with finance and operations teams to design scalable policies and process documentation that withstand both audit scrutiny and investor due diligence.

ASC 842 Leases

2
Supporting clients across the financial services, retail, and consumer goods sectors, I've led and participated in end-to-end lease accounting implementations under ASC 842. This includes identifying embedded leases in service contracts, building right-of-use asset and liability schedules, and evaluating discount rate assumptions.

I collaborate directly with controllers and FP&A teams to design internal workflows that automate data collection, minimize manual errors, and improve month-end close efficiency.
3

Equity and Complex Transactions

I research and draft technical memos on topics such as SAFE and convertible note conversions, preferred stock classifications, and share-based compensation. My work includes analyzing capitalization tables, determining the appropriate treatment of modifications, and supporting the accounting for complex equity structures as companies grow or prepare for funding rounds.

I partner closely with CFOs, legal counsel, and valuation specialists to ensure consistency across the financial statements, board materials, and investor communications.

IPO Readiness Advisory & Financial Reporting

4
I advise high-growth and pre-IPO companies through the rigorous process of becoming public-ready, bridging the gap between technical accounting compliance, investor expectations, and operational scalability.

My work centers on helping clients translate private company financials into SEC-compliant reporting. This includes assisting with S-1 registration statement preparation, pro forma financials, and detailed footnote disclosures that align with SEC and PCAOB standards. I've helped management teams assess accounting policies and historical adjustments to ensure consistency across periods and develop clear, investor-ready narratives in their MD&A sections.

I also play a hands-on role in identifying gaps in internal controls designing implementation roadmaps, and coordinating across audit, tax, and valuation teams to meet the accelerated timelines of IPO preparation. Beyond the financial statements, I work with finance leaders to strengthen close processes, document accounting positions, and prepare the organization for the ongoing demands of being a public company, from quarterly reporting to SOX readiness.
